EBAY TOOLBAR FOR FIREFOX
Q::After taking your advice we are using the Firefox browser instead of IE. My wife & I buy & sell a lot on ebay, when I downloaded the toolbar it attached itself to IE. How do I get it it onto Firefox?

There are so many Firefox extensions. Find one by selecting Add-ons from the Firefox Tools menu and clicking the Get Extensions link. Or just Google “Ebay” and “Firefox”. You’ll get a link to the Firefox Extension for Ebay. https://firefox.codebase.ebay.com/
CHOOSING A MAC FOR LINUX
Q::I was wondering. (I am still trying to decide on a MacBook or a Mac Mini) but since I am going to start working at a Mac callcenter soon, I think I should be getting some experience with the machines outside the classroom, and I was wondering, as a second OS, how well does Ubuntu 6.10 perform on either of those two systems? Also, on the MacBook, can you get the built in webcam working under Ubuntu? Because getting a webcam that works with Linux is difficult.

Ubuntu does run on Macs, but getting the web cams to work will be tougher than doing it on a generic PC laptop since the Mac hardware is non-standard. Fortunately the Ubuntu forums can come to the rescue. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=225621
MEDIA CENTER CRASHES
Q::I have a Gateway GM5072: AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core processor 4200+ 2.21 GHz. 1.87Gb RAM. This has a NVidia GForce 6100 Display adapter and a TV tuner. The problem is that when I get TV it runs for a few minutes then stops. I have to restart it and it stops again. This is WinXP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2. It seemed to run a little better when I installed IE 7 after using IE 6 which was more troublesome. Now it will not allow me to view some movies on AMC channel.I don’t know what to do about this!!

RECORDING A SKYPE CALL
Q::I am running Microsoft Windows Vista on my computer and I do a netcast, usually weekly. I used to use Hot Recorder to record Skype conversations for my netcast, however Hot Recorder will not run on Vista. I have tried Pretty May, however the recording quality if not very good. Do you have a suggestion for a good VoIP recording package?
Also what microphone / headset do you recommend?

The best way to do this is with hardware - I use an external mixer.
I haven’t used them but there are several programs that claim they can do this, SkypeCap and PowerGramo, but I’m intrigued by Pamela (www.pamela-systems.com).
