Episode #91
Hey Gang, Just wondering about Microsoft Virtual PC. I have Ubuntu on a secondary drive already installed, but I would like to use VPC to access it, but I cant seem to figure out how to do this. I’ve used all that I can to figure it out. Any Help??

Microsoft offers Virtual PC 2007 free for Windows. That’s nice because it gives you the opportunity to use various versions of Windows in XP or Vista. You can also isolate a copy of Windows for safer browsing. Running Linux on Virtual PC is a bit more problematic. According to at least some reviewers it’s impossible to run Ubuntu (http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=273) although it might be possible to run other versions of Linux. Microsoft says it’s guaranteed to run Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP, Vista, and OS/2 Warp, and should run other not Microsoft OSs. The issue with most Linux versions is that the graphics interface XWindows doesn’t work. Stick with the command line or configure Xwindows to work in 16-bit color. I think VMWare is a much better choice, but it’s also much pricer.
