Episode #88
I’ve got an Airplus G kit (DWL-922c). I’m two floors up from router & my connection jumps from 11 mbps - 54 mbps, that’s ok. My connection keeps shutting off or resetting. I’ve tried pcpitstop.com & used Cablenut to adjust settings but nothing works.

That’s pretty typical for a WiFi connection that’s trying to blast through walls or floors, unfortunately — the range decreases every time you hit a physical obstacle, especially if there’s anything heavy like concrete or metal in the way. The best you can do under the circumstances is move the antennas around until you find a route that’s more clear, including moving items that may interfere with the wireless signal (microwave ovens, cordless phones, heavy-duty transformers, etc). If you simply can’t keep the signal stable you might want to consider power-line networking instead, which would turn your house’s electrical wiring into your very own network.
