Windows vista has dropped the popular fax module from all but their most expensive (Ultimate) option which I don’t have on my laptop. Can you recommend a good alternative?

By all accounts the new Windows Fax and Scan is pretty good, but you’re right, for some reason Microsoft requires you to buy a business version or the Ultimate version of Vista. Maybe they figure no one is faxing from their computers any more. It’s true I’ve been using Efax for some time and far prefer it, but it does have a monthly cost.
The $20 Mightyfax doesn’t yet work with Vista, but I hope they’ll release a version that does soon. Watch their web site for updates, www.rkssoftware.com/mightyfax/ .
