Episode #83
Hi, I am doing on-line uni at the moment with an organisation called Open Universities Australia. This growing organisation that works with eight different unis to provide online learning for people who are unable to attend university. This is an exploding industry in Australia particularly for people in regional areas. Regarding referencing/bibliography, I have to be able to use a number of different styles depending on which Uni I am working with at the time. My question is that I have been told that Harvard is the most used reference system in the world so why isnt it listed in the available “bibliography” styles for Microsoft Word. I have the latest version of Microsoft Word and Chicage is there and APA, and even the Chinese and Russian styles - so where is Harvard? Do you know if MW is going to make it available at some time in the future? I know that I could use EndNote but it is too expensive.

There’s a program that specializes in creating these citations, but it’s very expensive: Endnote. You can use it free for 30-days however. LSL Software makes a much less expensive program, www.lslsoftware.com. It’s 10 pounds UK.
Using Mirosoft Word’s built-in endnote capability you can create these notes by hand, of course.
