Episode #63
I recently had to to a reinstall on my computer. The reinstall was done by a local computer tech and when I got it back the there was half of my memory on the local disk C: and the rest of my data from before the reinstall was on a new volume D: drive. I was wondering if there was any way to put the two drives back together.

You can do this with the Windows installer if you’re willing to erase the drive and start over. To save your data you need Partition Magic (http://www.symantec.com/partitionmagic)- but it’s not free. There is an open source non-destructive partition editor, gParted (http://gparted.sourceforge.net), but I would definitely back up everything before you use it. Download the LiveCD version (it’s around 50 megs) and boot to the CD.
