Episode #60

Vista Desktop Rearranging

Hey there Leo… I’m having a little issue here. I have a new Toshiba satellite notebook, running Core2 duo and 1GB ram, and Vista Home Premium. I’ve noticed on occasion now that if I set it to hibernate, when it reopens, the icons on the desktop are all rarranged and once or twice, they’ve been resized. Doesn’t seem to occur after any particular program has run, just occasionally (I use all of my software on a regular basis, and this is intermittent) Oh, and I’m a good boy, doing like you said and running not in Administrator mode. Hoping you might be able to give me a clue where to look to fix this. And unfotunately, I’ll not be available to appear on the show as I work away in a minesite…. I’ll have to ask you to read the e-mail and I’ll atch the show for the answer. Thanks

This was a perennial problem with XP, I’m sorry to hear it’s still happening in Vista. We never were able to figure out why this was happening in XP. It’ll probably be the same in Vista!
