    Leo and Steve talk about the oldest form of authentication – someone you know – and how, while it is generally not very useful for remote network authentication, it can sometimes come in VERY handy in emergency situations when one or more “factors” in a multifactor authentication scheme are temporarily unavailable.

  • Monitor Color Calibration.

    Ray does a live demo of calibrating and profiling a monitor using Gretag EyeOne Colorimeter.

    He steps through the settings live using the actual application. This takes about one minute. The application then starts the profiling procedure. This process takes four minutes, fifteen seconds. During this time Leo and Ray discussed the following points.

    1. Why calibrate and profile.
    2. Color profile aware applications (Mac vs. Windows)
    3. Monitor profiles are different from editing space profiles like sRGB and Adobe RGB 98.
    4. Never use editing space profiles as monitor profiles.
    5. Never use a monitor profile as an editing space profile.
