Ray does a live demo of calibrating and profiling a monitor using Gretag EyeOne Colorimeter.
He steps through the settings live using the actual application. This takes about one minute. The application then starts the profiling procedure. This process takes four minutes, fifteen seconds. During this time Leo and Ray discussed the following points.
1. Why calibrate and profile.
2. Color profile aware applications (Mac vs. Windows)
3. Monitor profiles are different from editing space profiles like sRGB and Adobe RGB 98.
4. Never use editing space profiles as monitor profiles.
5. Never use a monitor profile as an editing space profile.
