Could you please give me an idea of what speed should average on dial-up. I am getting all kinds of different speeds from people in different areas. My speed is usually 21.6Kbps and lately I connect at 14.0 Kbps . It is horrible. I have called the phone company said not their fault and then my subscriber who has changed the dail in number and modem number and blames the phone company. I have disconnected all phones in the house and still comes in at 14.0Kbps. Now I have also noticed more than a couple of times that when go on explorer it says connect but nothing happens and also when I go on google it says connecting at the bottom of page but everything seems as though frozen yet my computer will work on other programs, so it has not froze. So what I am asking is could you please tell me my problem. SUBCRIBER, PHONE COMPANY or IS IT MY COMPUTER? I am a beginner at the computer.
