Episode #48

Spyware, Bluetooth and Video Game Physics

Hello there! My names Geoff, and I’m a grade 11 student at Seaquam secondary and the “aspiring young programmer”. Ok well, two questions, both of which I’m hoping you can help me with, and one comment I think you might be intrested in. Spyware: I’ve got one pop up that pops up rarly but annoyingly. It’s usually for a screen saver or sometimes for online poker. I was wondering If it’s the actual website or if there is some crap-soft on my system. Im running Vista X64 (:D) Ultimate. The next one I’ve got for you is a question about blue tooth: The futureshop guy (a reliable source right :p) told me a tale about how I can get online from a laptop via bluetooth to a palm trio and connecting (Id asume via dial up… or some freaky extension of dial up) to the internet. does this tale hold any merit? Can I do it? One more thing about blue tooth: I can feel the latency of standard wireless mice, I move it left, and it takes a few hundred milliseconds for the cursor to move left. When your a Hard core player of Couterstrike 1.6, this just wont do. On the otherhand, My computer is a mess, some cables are too long, some to short, going wireless would clean up my setup a whole lot. So: has bluetooth resolved the issue of “signal lag”?

Check to see if the popup only occurs when you’ve got a browser open. If that’s the case it’s probably from the web and not worth worrying about. If it happens at other times you’ve got a spyware infestation and should deal with it.

I find Bluetooth laggy, as well. RF wireless keyboards seem to be much more responsive.
