Leo and Steve talk about the recent breakthrough in cracking the original WiFi encryption technology called “WEP.” They describe all of the various WiFi encryption options available, and discuss the tradeoffs among them. They show how this recent “breakthrough” in WEP encryption cracking fundamentally changes the “calculus” of WiFi cracking by making it tantalizingly simple to hack into any WiFi system that is NOT protected by the only good encryption system left, WPA.

Laptops, wifi and cellphones have laid the groundwork for a new format for working
A coworking space is more inclusive, more casual, and more collaborative
Can be as simple a shared corner of a pre-existing office
WorkSpace is a 5000sqft loft built exclusively for coworking

Discussion about the ways that technology has impacted where we are and who we are working with… Ubiquity of laptops, wifi, & cellphones has given us the freedom to work where and when we want.
Most people interpret that as yay! I get to sleep in and go to work in my PJ’s. That’s great but there’s something better.
Cafe’s have been providing people with a place to work for centuries, now similar alternatives are creeping up.
What is Co-Working
“Coworking is a movement to create a community of cafe-like collaboration spaces for developers, writers and independents.”
The first example of co-working I saw was a place in PEI called The Queen Street Commons. ( queenstreetcommons.org).
The real difference between typical “office space” and a co-working space is the atmosphere. People are meant to flow in and out, there are rarely any dedicated desks. Everyone shares the same space and people are encouraged to help each-other and collaborate.
A co-working space can be something as simple as a group of people getting together to share an unused corner of a friends office, or it can a space that is run exclusively for independents, which is what we do at WorkSpace.

What is WorkSpace
We were one of very few and possibly the first to fully commit to the coworking concept.
We have a full service espresso bar, wireless printing, fiber optic connectivity, meeting rooms, and nearly 60 members.
We’ve tried really hard to make it easy to join, so we run the space more like a club than an office.
We host lots of events in the space, not least of which are the local DemoCamp and BarCamp confrences.
