Port forwarding is the way you convince a router to deliver traffic coming in on specific ports to automatically be redirected to very specific computers with programs that are using those ports for communication. The tricky part is that not all routers call features by the same name or put them in the same menu hierarchy. Make sure you check submenus, especially ones for advance functions, and keep your eye open for “virtual server”, which is another name for “port forwarding”.
