I have my own website, http://www.mattosoft.com, in which I sell programs that I developed at school. At the moment, I use a button that links to paypal but if someone purchases my software I want it to automatically send an email to them with a link to download it. What are the different ways that I can safely sell my software? Are there any freeware e-commerce software programs, that I can use? Help will be much appreciated, Regards, Matthew

There are 124 e-commerce systems on the open source site, sourceforge.net. The most popular is PrestaShop. I haven’t used it but there’s an active user community and lots of documentation. It looks like it will do everything you want it to.

You may know Solio for its solar-charging products, but guess what? They also have a new hybrid product (the H1000) for when you don’t have access to the sun. Though the H1000 has a solar panel on one side, it also comes with a cable that will allow its internal battery to be charged via USB, which means you can still have a full charge even on a rainy day. While the H1000 comes with a clip so you can hook it on a backpack strap or a belt loop, it doesn’t have any easy place to store your charger tips or the USB charge cable when you’re not using them. You might want to invest in a small travel bag for the various pieces.
