Episode #180
I would like to transfer files to my laptop at work but not lug around my ac adapter. When I use the belkin usb transfer cable I get a warning saying you can not go ahead until you plug in ac cord. Can I disable or by-pass this warning. The files I want to exchange are only a gig in size. My battery is definitely capable of sustaining the transfer.

You could try using a powered hub for that Belkin cable - it would provide the power it needs - but it also might be a warning built into the software, in which case you’re out of luck. There are other ways to copy data to a laptop, however. Try a crossover Ethernet cable, for instance, and use File Sharing. If this files are that small a USB key might also be the answer.
