I was wondering if there is any software that I can buy or download that can allow me to use my new ipod touch as an alarm clock? They have removed the ability to wake up to a specific playlist from this new model. :(

Older iPods have an alarm feature that will playback a playlist at a set time. If the Touch is lacking that it’s a real shame. Fortunately Apple is opening both the Touch and iPhone to third-party apps and there will probably be a program to do this any day now.
You can hack the Touch to add third-party apps now, but it’s a risky business since an update from Apple could cause problems or even brick your iPod.
