i created 2 partitions on my computer hoping to install windows vista, but i dont think my computer had enough hardware to run vista because the installation was failing. i then installed windows xp on another partition. how do i delete the windows vista files on the other partition?

Sean’s note: The Vista installation can fail for a few reasons, including simply not having enough hard drive space available for the install….if you have a small hard drive that could have been a good part of the problem.
To get rid of the files on the Vista partition you can simply reformat that partition if there’s nothing else on it and it’s not the boot drive. (If it’s the boot drive, don’t reformat it though!!! You’ll quite likely break your ability to boot to XP if you do.) If you want to simply delete the files but the system is telling you you don’t have permission, you can “take ownership” of the files in question and then delete them.
