If you want to pep up your sound without spending a zillion dollars on equipment, BBE Sound thinks it has the answer for you in the Sonic Maximizer. It’s a fairly simple device, with only two knobs on the front, and an in/out switch — you simply tweak the “lo contour” (bass response) and the “process” (amount of signal processing taking place inside the box) until you get the sound you want. It doesn’t really look like much—in fact, it looks downright industrial—but it does sweeten up the sound for not too much cash.
Shiny
- adjusts timing of frequencies
- multiple audio inputs
- not too inexpensive
Dull
- hard to quantify results
- very industrial look
