I am interested in a WM6 phone (the T-mobile Wing in particular) and was wondering about any possible apps that would be able to download net/vidcasts on the fly sans computer? The Wing has Wi-fi so I was thinking about using that. Ultimately I’m planning on using the device as a laptop replacement and was hoping to listen/view/download new podcasts while traveling sans laptop. Thanks!

You can, of course, get the podcasts on your phone from your computer using Windows Media Player (instructions here: http://www.engadget.com/2004/12/16/how-to-get-podcasts-and-videos-on-win...), but if you want to download podcasts directly try the free PocketPodcasts, pocketpodcasts.sourceforge.net. Microsoft also recommends FeederReader, http://www.feederreader.com/

One of the problems with most Bluetooth headsets is that you have to hang it from your ear with a hook, or jam it into your ear canal with an isolation eartip…both can be uncomfortable in different ways. The Flamingo headset from CellPoint Connect is designed to avoid that discomfort by snugging up into the inside of your ear’s folds. It’s pretty secure for the most part, and it sounds great…and it even comes with a lanyard so you can easily sling it around your neck between uses. The biggest problem is that it looks a bit dorky when you’re talking on it while the lanyard is attached…but hey, Bluetooth headsets look dorky kinda by default anyhow.
