Episode #131
I have lots of old family photos, some dating back to the early fifties. Many of them are discolored, faded and physically damaged (torn, scratched, etc). My goal is to use Photoshop Elements 5, which I am self-taught in the basics, and create an electronic album. What I need help with is: • Selecting a scanner. I do not currently own one and not sure what to look for. Q: Can the light from the scanner further damage the photos? • Learning techniques in Photoshop Elements specific to photo restoration.

I like the Epson Perfection line. They range in cost from inexpensive to high end - choose the one you can afford. They all offer excellent results, and no they won’t further damage your prints.
