Several years ago I purchaced a Compaq Computer 5127Sr with ME instaled. each year I would do a factory restore with a disk I purchaserd.Last year I upgraded to Xp with a upgrade disk. Question: Can use the ME Factory Restore disk to return to factory restore and then use the XP disk to return to Xp. Also miss you show on TV here in the states but do catch you on weekends online.

Good news: You can start the whole process right from your XP upgrade disc, so long as you have the Windows ME disk handy. Because the XP is an upgrade, it will just ask you to verify that you have the old disk…just pop the old disk in when the XP installer asks. That means you won’t end up with all of the crunge from the Windows ME install…you don’t want that operating system on your computer at all if you can avoid it.
