Episode #121

Replacing MusicMatch

Hi Leo, I have a vast collection of MP3 files that I have burned through the years with various version of MusicMatch (version 7 to 10). I loved this program, it has a great “Super Tagging” feature, it is very easy to use and I spend lots of time “Rating” theses songs through the years. Unfortunately they were bought by Yahoo and this version (10) is no longer supported by the company and it is also not compatible with Vista. So I was hoping to use Window Media Player 11 (WMP11) since it came free with my Vista Home Premium but the program doesn’t recognized my “Rating” tag that I made with MusicMatch. Is there anyway I can make Window Media Player recognized my “Ratings” or is there another Mp3 player/Manager that might be compatible with my MusicMatch Id3Tag? Even the new Yahoo MusicMatch doesn’t recognized my “Ratings” .I spend a lot of time ratings theses songs and I would hate to start over again. Thanks Daniel

One of my favorite music players, MediaMonkey, has a script that will import your MusicMatch ratings. It’s free from MediaMonkey.com. Get a copy of the script in the MediaMonkey forums: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7599
