Duplicate your video clip and layer it on a track above itself.
Use a “Garbage Matte” to throw away a select area of your footage.
Now you have the same shot divided into two components that can be controlled individually.
Apply “Gaussian Blur” filter to both layers of video.
Use keyframes to increase the blur on one clip while decreasing on the other clip.
This simulates a “rack focus” effect.

With so many people shooting video simply for uploading to YouTube, it’s not a surprise that certain gadgets are making the process easier. The Exilim EX-Z77 is a full-functional 7.2 megapixel camera that can also shoot video…but the key difference is that it also has a YouTube-specific shooting mode. That means that it captures the video in a format that’s already Optimized for YouTube…no tweaking or resizing required. The unfortunate thing is that it doesn’t have a lot of onboard memory, so if you want to shoot more than 30 seconds of video at a time, you’ll really want to pick up a large SecureDigital card at the same time. Line Rider was originally created by Boštjan Cadež, a Slovenian university student, in September of 2006. It almost immediately gathered a cult following and became the seventh quickest gaining keyword in Google. Since that time, the ‘toy’ has generated over 16 million views.
