Taking shows off of DVR and putting them on my video ipod I have a Motorola DCT6412 III DVR, and would like to know if there is a way to take shows off of it, and copy them so that I can put them on my iPod or a DVD? The DVR has a usb ethernet port in the front (which i think is disabled) and it has a firewire port in the back but i dont have firewire in my pc.

In most cases you can’t use the USB or Firewire ports for copying video from DVRs. Your best bet is to connect an analog video capture device to the DVR, digitize the video, and convert it to a form the iPod can handle.
