Pixelmator is still in Beta but it looks promising! Is it a Photoshop Killer? Hardly. But, at $59, it doesn’t have to be. It has a modern GPU-based engine and it allows you to do most of the basic editing you would do in Photoshop. It doesn’t have some of the bells and whistles that I’d like to see (like Channels) but it does have most of what the average person using Photoshop needs. It’s definitely an exciting version 1 of the software!
