Burning CDs

We have a stock cd player in our 2001 Honda Civic. I made a full disc copy of a Disney cd. the cd is ECD type. when playing the cd in the car there is a extreme delay for the songs to start and the same with changing track. There is no delay on the original. I also tried copying the songs only using WMA,Nero,Roxio and the delay is still there. What is the problem?

ECD stands for “Enhanced CD”, which indicates that the CD has a combination of audio and multimedia content. If you do a bit-by-bit copy of the CD you should theoretically be able to get an exact duplicate of the original CD, but sometimes the manufacturers deviate from CD standards enough for their original CD to play but not be able to be copied…this can be by introducing deliberate errors in the CD format.

There’s also the possibility that the errors are being introduced during the burning process, either because of lower-quality media (personally, I don’t trust inexpensive media because it’s probably cheap for a good reason) or because you’re burning it at too high a speed. Try burning to a better-quality CD, and burning at a slower burn speed (there should be settings inside the Nero burn dialogue), to see if that fixes the problem.
