Coal Harbour Eye Centres Medical Director and Chief Surgeon is Dr. Steven Kirzner A conscientious and dedicated eye surgeon, he has been involved in his own private ophthalmic practice in 1985. After successfully completing his training in refractive surgery in 1990 he devoted his time solely to laser refractive surgery and has performed over 35,000 procedures to date, both LASIK & PRK. Dr. Kirzners wealth of experience includes being the Medical Director for LVCs Vancouver centre for 18 months. As part of his daily responsibilities of surgeries, administration and office protocols, he had been actively involved in the training and instructing of other laser refractive surgeons. Dr. Kirzner is a firm believer in this procedure and chose to have his own myopia treated in 1997 when he underwent the procedure. Dr. Kirzner is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1984, as well as being the Ophthalmic Consultant to the Yukon Territories since 1990. My philosophy was to open a centre with emphasis on medicine and patient care.
